Nate the Great and the Halloween Hunt

by Marjorie Weinman Sharmat
illustrated by Marc Simont

I just finished this book today. I thought it was appropriate because it is about Halloween. It all started out when Rosamond and Annie were trick or treating. Rosamond lost her cat, Little Hex. He is her tiniest cat. Nate the Great had to find her cat. Nate had to look in a haunted house! Nate usually didn't think haunted houses were real, but today he figured out that they WERE real!
There were ghosts, goblins and scary sounds! Little Hex wasn't in there. Nate noticed that the doors were locked. The side door, the front door and the back door were all locked!
Sludge broke the side of the house so Nate could squeeze out! It was a very exciting part!
Nate figured out the case. He said, "The case is solved!" Nate noticed that Rosamond's bag was heavier than Annie's bag, but they went to the same houses. Little Hex was in Rosamond's trick-or-treating basket.
This book is very cool  because it has eight Halloween "Extra Fun Activities" at the end. I can't wait to try them!

  1. You are certainly reading some good books, Anna, and how fun to have some Halloween activities included at the end.
